Having missed part of pre-season and not signing until the eve of start of the season Liam has found the timing of his return to be timely as he stepped into make his first league start of the season in Saturday's 1-0 win which resulted in the first clean sheet of the season.

A player who has a lot to live up to having being the captain of the clubs previous U21 set up and eventual winner of the Manager's player of the season that year after showing incredible consistency and maturity to lead the team to a 3rd place finish.

In a position that has fierce competition with other excellent options in Vine, Strachan and his name-sake Jack, Liam will be keen to ensure that his excellent opening league display on Saturday is just the beginning of prolonged consistency to hold down a regular position.

Perhaps the most natural ball-playing centre back, Liam also possesses excellent upper-body strength and rarely loses a 50-50 duel with the best of strikers.
